The guy, like a lot of people, has listened to people that blew the concept out of proportion. If you've raced the turbo car hard right before you're ready to shut it down (boosting), let it idle 1st, otherwise, don't worry about it. The Z has an oil cooler and if you drive it easy without boosting the last couple of minutes, that's more cooling to it then letting it sit and idle. When boosting, the turbos get hot from a combo of friction, pressure, and exhaust gasses. If you boost hard, then shut it off, you have a chance of cooking the oil near/in the turbo. That's why we use a good quality synthetic, it resists this much more and you're chances of it happening are even less. The guy sounds right in the catagory of the ones that tell you that they're glad they're bald cause it's less hair they have to cut. In reality, they have no choice and try to make themselves look better than the other guy.
